Cardedeu, Bronze medal of the 2008 edition of FIHB Champions League

28th November 2008

phoca_thumb_l_1415698865-6 The Spanish team of Cardedeu finally won the match for 3rd place.
Despite a very engaged second period, the English team from Melton could not catch up the 6 to 2 in favor of the Spanish team at the half-time. This young team has fought on each throw-in, on each goal but the comfortable advance of the Catalan team has not allowed any chance to reverse the trend of the 1st part of the match.

So on next Sunday, the teams will be rewarded during the general awards ceremony at the conclusion of the final between the teams Chambly (FRA) to Caramel (BEL) for the 1st and 2nd places.

Testimonial

When Horse-Ball for the first time was introduced to the Swedish audience at Stockholm International horse Show 2006 it was a roaring success. The TV commentators said that it was the most fantastic development that the equestrian sport has ever seen, much more exciting that they could ever anticipate. In the thorough public survey among our spectators, that is done every year, it was top ranked. A Champions League Final in Stockholm in the fantastic Globe Arena would be embraced with the greatest interest by media and spectators alike.

What is Horse-Ball

Horse-Ball is a highly spectacular equestrian sport which can be defined as a kind of "basket-ball on a horseback". It was started off in France by French Army Captain Clave, a showjumping World Champion in the 30's. In the 70's the French Equestrian Federation defined the rules on which the game is now played. In 1999 the International Horse-Ball Federation was created to manage and promote the sport across the globe. Horse-Ball today is played by thousands of people in 3 continents. In April 2004 FIHB was recognised by the FEI and Horse-Ball became a Regional discipline in Group I and II.
