From 27th April to 1st May in Tashkent Racing stadium “Toshkent Otchopari” the Horse-Ball clinic reached an important success with the participation of more than 10 riders coming from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

In Uzbekistan, like in others limiters countries (i.e. Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan), a similar game called “Kok Boru” exists since hundreds of years. Together with a high quality of horses, players and the culture of the game in their blood since they are children, it has been very quick to obtain a very good standard of quality training and exercises. The enthusiasm of players and organizers was absolutely fantastic.

An agreement between the President of the Tashkent Racing stadium “Toshkent Otchopari”, Alashov Shaykhali Alashovich, the General Secretary of the Uzbekistan National Federation, Jo’raqo’zi Boyqo’zievich and our FIHB President, Eric Bassot, has been reached: to have their National Federation putting in place the full process to be affiliated to FIHB and invest on this activity with other FIHB interventions in their country or in Europe.

Our contact in Kyrgyzstan, Mounarbek Kouldanbaev, has also committed to do the same. Mounarbek who spent some time in France, acquired important knowledge with his brother on Horse-Ball and created a couple of teams in his country. He plans to organize in collaboration with FIHB a demonstration match in late October during an Equestrian show in AT CHABYSH 2009- TOKTOGUL. For more information see www.kirghizasia.com

“I have been really surprised by the quality of the people participating to the clinic” said Claude Michelet “and I am quite sure that they will invest on this discipline, and will come in Europe to improve their skills. Our objective will be to organize a competition evolution, with the best conditions, with this country and between others close countries in order to be able to reach the right international standards.”

“We are confident that next clinic in this part of the world will involve more than 2 countries” said Eric Bassot, FIHB President. “What we have seen here was really much over what we could ever expect”.

“We are very happy about this clinic” said Claude Michelet “it is the result of a long work with these fantastic people. There is a real potential in this part of the world where their culture is tightly linked to the horse riding.”

“Kirgizstan will also participate, and we have raised a lot of interest for a next edition. These countries between Europe and Asia are important and strategic for FIHB development” said Eric Bassot Fihb President.

When Horse-Ball for the first time was introduced to the Swedish audience at Stockholm International horse Show 2006 it was a roaring success. The TV commentators said that it was the most fantastic development that the equestrian sport has ever seen, much more exciting that they could ever anticipate. In the thorough public survey among our spectators, that is done every year, it was top ranked. A Champions League Final in Stockholm in the fantastic Globe Arena would be embraced with the greatest interest by media and spectators alike.
