From 27th April to 1st May in Tashkent Racing stadium “Toshkent Otchopari” the Horse-Ball clinic reached an important success with the participation of more than 10 riders coming from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

In Uzbekistan, like in others limiters countries (i.e. Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan), a similar game called “Kok Boru” exists since hundreds of years. Together with a high quality of horses, players and the culture of the game in their blood since they are children, it has been very quick to obtain a very good standard of quality training and exercises. The enthusiasm of players and organizers was absolutely fantastic.

An agreement between the President of the Tashkent Racing stadium “Toshkent Otchopari”, Alashov Shaykhali Alashovich, the General Secretary of the Uzbekistan National Federation, Jo’raqo’zi Boyqo’zievich and our FIHB President, Eric Bassot, has been reached: to have their National Federation putting in place the full process to be affiliated to FIHB and invest on this activity with other FIHB interventions in their country or in Europe.

Portugal versus GermanyThe Equestrian Center is revving Asturcón with brilliant opening day of European Championship Horse-ball by the teams of Belgium and Portugal who broke the ice by defeating Britain and Germany, respectively.
The first match of the day he faced to Belgium and Britain allowed us to draw the game's potential rivals of Spain in Group A.

Belgium beat Britain 10-7, showing a game on defense and insurance outspoken and quick attack that allowed them to get ahead in the first minutes of the game (4-2), but the British responded and through their player Ben Berry who scored three consecutive baskets in the first half, were to rest with a tight 5-4.

The English printed pace in the second half and managed to tie the game. During the first five minutes the Belgian found no way to overcome the British defense until Robin and Captain Cool English, Guy Van Herreweche gap began to open. Both scored three baskets and mounts with their Koukoumi Asja and gave victory to Belgium 10-7.

The second match for Group B, was taken in hand by the Portuguese, who won a comfortable victory against Germany (13-2). The Portuguese did show an aggressive defense, well behind schedule and with two players constantly fly in the opposite camp who did not give option of scoring the German team. Highlighting the work of the Portuguese player Tiago Ribas and his horse with 5 Vice Rei stands out as provisional baskets scorer in the championship.

Finally he welcomed the good tone of the game, allowing a relaxed work arbitrate by collegiate Marcel Sanchez, Santiago Arango and Andre Ponzo, who only identified a P1 in the first game and P2 in the second game. And of course, commend the work of Aitor Arango speaker who combined their skills (retransmitted parties in English, French and Spanish) with the musical.

Tomorrow at half past six p.m. host debut, Spain to Britain. And at seven-thirty, the heavy favorites ante France, measured forces with Germany. Previously, five-thirty will be on exhibition game between Team China and Europe combined.

The second day at Montpellier have seen the finals of the IV FIHB Champions League at the new Arena of Parc des Expositions of Montpellier (France). It was very impressive to play in such conditions with so many seated places around the field. Even if it was after the 3*** CSI and late on Sunday as the matches started at 18:45, the public was numerous and very entousiastic. A real gorgeous moment for Horse-Ball.

The first final for 3rd place was between Belgium Team Caramel against Portughese Team Vasco de Gama. A good match a bit tense game due to the suggestive context of the place and public and not only for the sportive issue! Belgium won 8 - 6 this small final gaining the bronze medal.

The Final between Blanzac Team from Bordeaux and a very good Spanish Team from Cardeleu, currently holding the title of European Champions Team, has been the most unexpected game. Very difficult for both team in finding the right way to penetrate the adverse defence. In fact after 5 min of games only 1 - 1 to then finish the first half 3 - 1 for France. A very phisical match, nearly all the time with no more than 1 gaol difference. Difficult to referee. At the end of the game the French at 30 second before the game finish succeeded in getting the last gaol, delivering the title of European Champions Team.

Probably France didn't expect such a suffered final, but at the end this Cup is back to France.

From 24th to 26th September at La Madria (Turin - Italy) has been held the 2nd International Tournament.

We had 3 French Teams and 6 Italian Teams in the senior Category. 2 French teams and 3 Italian for the under 16 category, 4 Italian Teams for the Second Division. The idea of the tournament was to offer a great moment of aggregation between foreign teams just for the fun and for the sport. Everybody had a great time and the whole competition has been held in a sportsmanship spirit asking to be invited again next year. It has been also the opportunity to have referees training during the matchs.

At the end of saturday the third time period of the game was fantastic with a great Fiesta and live music band!

Please have a look at the video, even if the comment is in Italian. Dowload the result sheets for each category.

See you next year, with more teams !

When Horse-Ball for the first time was introduced to the Swedish audience at Stockholm International horse Show 2006 it was a roaring success. The TV commentators said that it was the most fantastic development that the equestrian sport has ever seen, much more exciting that they could ever anticipate. In the thorough public survey among our spectators, that is done every year, it was top ranked. A Champions League Final in Stockholm in the fantastic Globe Arena would be embraced with the greatest interest by media and spectators alike.
